Honor 8 with 4GB RAM, Kirin 950 SoC, Dual 12 MP rear cameras launched for Rs 29,999 in India

The Honor 8 flagship, has officially been launched today in India. The device boasts some great hardware, but fans may be a bit skeptical about the pricing, considering that Honor is a value brand, unlike the premium Huawei devices.

Let’s see what the phone’s internals comprise of.

The Honor 8 sports a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080P LTPS display with a pixel density of 443 ppi, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and a 96% NTSC color gamut . This is different than the AMOLED variant which the US variant of the Honor 8. The phone has 2.5D glass on both the front and the back, with an aluminum alloy body and rounded edges.  The Honor 8 runs on Huawei’s EMUI 4.1, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and is powered by an in-house, 16nm Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and a Mali-T880 GPU.  The phone comes with 32GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB of expandable memory.

Photography options on the Honor 8, consists of Dual 12 megapixel rear cameras. One lens is an RGB sensor, while the other is a monochrome lens. The cameras are supported by Dual ISP (Image Signal Processor), an f/2.2 aperture, a hybrid laser auto-focus, and a professional mode for advanced settings. The back panel of the Honor 8, houses a 3D fingerprint scanner with a 0.4 second unlock, and adaptive learning. The selfie lens on the phone is an 8 megapixel front camera, with an f/2.4 aperture

The device is backed by a 2,900mAh battery with fast charging and Smart Power 4.0. The Honor 8 has a USB Type-C port and bottom firing speakers, and connectivity wise, it supports NFC, 4G LTE, Single nano SIM carda

The Honor 8 has been priced at Rs. 29,999 and is available for purchase from Amazon India and Flipkart. The phone is available in three colours Sapphire Blue, Pearl White and Sunrise Gold.
