Google Play now lets you browse and shop for Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones listed for sale on Google Store. The purchase itself goes through Google Store, not Play.
Google confirms the change on a Google Play Help page:
You can now discover and shop for hardware devices, such as Pixel or Samsung smartphones listed for sale on Google Store, on Google Play.
Google Store handles the sale, not Google Play
Google describes Play as only the entry point and discovery layer for these phones. According to its help page, Play doesn’t handle payment or delivery. Invoicing, help with offers and customer support also sit outside Play.
That matters if something goes wrong. Your purchase is completed through Google Store under its Terms of Sale for Devices. Questions about an order go to the Google Store Help Center.
Google Play billing policies don’t apply either. You pay with the payment methods available on Google Store. Google says promo codes from Play banners are applied at Google Store checkout.
What reports show inside the Play Store
9to5Google and SamMobile describe the new area as a Shop devices section. Google’s help page doesn’t use that name. It describes promotional banners on Play that open a Google Store page inside the app.
When 9to5Google checked, the section listed these devices:
- Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Flip 8
- Galaxy Watch 9
- Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold
- Pixel 10a
- Pixel Watch 4
- Google TV Streamer
9to5Google says that until now, the only way to order a Galaxy phone through Google Store was a Play Points offer or redemption.
Which markets have it
Google names no markets on its help page, and reports on the rollout disagree. 9to5Google says the section appears to be rolled out fairly widely. SamMobile says it’s only available in select markets.
SamMobile also reports that India’s hardware shop is live but sells only Pixel phones, as of its writing. If you don’t see the section, availability may differ in your region.
