Xiaomi hints at Mi A3 India launch; will have a 48MP camera and 3.5mm headphone jack

Xiaomi has begun teasing the Mi A3 India launch on its social networks. The device was even partially revealed by Manu Jain, Xiaomi’s Global VP.

You can see that the phone looks very similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, except for one subtle difference. The phone has a gradient finish, something which none of the current Note 7 Pro models have.

Jain also posted another tweet which contained the words “a new #48MP” and “after it is launched”. So, it is evident from this that he is talking about a new phone launch. One of the teasers has a tagline “48MP For Everyone”, which suggests it could be another budget friendly phone.

Considering that the Redmi 7 and the Redmi Y3 were only recently announced in India, and that the Mi A2 was launched 9 months ago, it is very much possible that the teasers are about the Mi A3 India launch.

And then there is the way he is holding the device. He is clearly hiding something on the back panel. It is probably the Android One branding which the device will carry. The Mi A3 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, something which the Mi A2 sadly lacked. Also visible is a fingerprint scanner.

If the photo was taken with another Mi A3, which is likely, the secondary lens on the phone is likely a depth sensor. We say this because the 2nd photo has a bokeh effect.

Redmi India tweeted out a teaser which features a dual rear camera design, along with a message that read “Only one 48MP. That clearly suggests another phone with a similar camera, which is why we think the Mi A3 will have a 48MP lens.

In case that doesn’t look clear, there brighter version is on the top of this page. The other tagline “Out of This World” could purely be the company’s way to create some hype for the upcoming device.

This isn’t the only phone which we will see from Xiaomi in the near future, because rumours indicate that the Redmi K20 could be launched as the Poco F2 in India soon.

We’ll keep an eye out for more details about the Mi A3 India launch, while you stay tuned to AndroidPure.
