Apple has seeded the iOS 27.2 release candidate, build 24B115, to developers. A release candidate is usually the last build before the public update. One thing testers saw earlier won’t ship with it, though: the redesigned Health app.

The redesigned Health app is not in iOS 27.2
We covered the new Health app when it reached testers in public beta 2. It didn’t last. According to 9to5Mac, Apple restored the previous Health app in beta 4.
MacRumors says the Health features were removed and will arrive in a later update. 9to5Mac reports the redesign is still planned for release later this year.
That leaves a tradeoff for anyone who liked the new design. Staying on an older beta keeps it, but means skipping the final 27.2 release and its other changes.
What iOS 27.2 does bring
Apple hasn’t published consumer release notes yet. These features turned up during beta testing, as reported by MacRumors and 9to5Mac:
- Siri AI in more languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish
- Apple TV app: support for profiles
- Call Context: anniversary alerts
- Apple Music icon: a black-and-white design replaces the red one, with blue marking the active tab
- Group FaceTime: Dual Capture support
- Apple Podcasts: changes to how episodes are organized
- EU only: support for an alternative, expanded App Tracking Transparency prompt
The Siri language expansion is the main addition that ships. The EU change matters for privacy, since that prompt is how apps ask permission to track you. The reports describe it only as an alternative, expanded prompt, without detailing how it will look or behave.
Release candidates for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and more
Apple released matching release candidates across its platforms on October 19, according to its developer releases page:
- iPadOS 27.2 RC: build 24B115
- macOS 27.2 RC: build 26B118
- watchOS 27.2 RC: build 24S116
- tvOS 27.2 RC: build 24K120
- visionOS 27.2 RC: build 24N118
- Xcode 27.2 RC: build 27B48
When will iOS 27.2 be released?
Apple hasn’t announced a date. MacRumors notes that Apple previously said the new Siri languages would arrive in October. On that basis, it expects a public release before the end of the month, possibly next week.
9to5Mac adds that this build could be the final one. If testing turns up no problems that need another build, the release candidate is what everyone gets.
Developers can install the RC from Settings > General > Software Update by selecting the iOS 27 developer beta, per MacRumors. Everyone else should wait for the public release.
