The Redmi Note 8 could be launched soon in China. That’s according to none other than Lu Weibing, the VP and General Manager of Xiaomi.

Redmi Note 8 might launch soon in China
Weibing took to Weibo to answer a few queries from fans who had been discussing what’s in store for the next phone in the Redmi Note series. And the company’s VP assured them that the Redmi Note 8 is indeed in the works.

The Google translated version of his exact words (courtesy ITHome) were “stronger than the next door”. We think it could mean that the device is coming soon. This does tally with what Wang Teng, the Product Manager of Xiaomi, had said earlier. He had teased that the phone could be launched in August.

Redmi Note 8 to have 64MP camera?

Now, a few days ago  we reported that the company has posted a message on Weibo about a 64MP camera phone. We don’t think Xiaomi may be launching multiple phones this month. So, it is possible that the Redmi Note 8 could be equipped with a ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor manufactured by Samsung.

The event is scheduled for August 7th, so we only have to wait until tomorrow, for the official announcement to be made in China. In comparison, the Redmi Note 7 had been launched in January 2019.
