OPPO has started rolling out the stable ColorOS 17 update to the Find X8 in India, Indonesia and Malaysia. The update is based on Android 17. The company confirmed the release in an OPPO Community notice posted on October 30.
The timing is on schedule. OPPO’s global ColorOS 17 rollout plan listed the Find X8 for October 30. According to The Tech Outlook, OPPO posted similar notices for the Find X8 Pro, Find N5 and Reno 16 models in the same batch.

Which phones are getting ColorOS 17 in this batch
The Find X8 is confirmed by OPPO’s own notice. The other models below come from The Tech Outlook’s October 31 report on OPPO’s Community notices.
Confirmed by OPPO
- OPPO Find X8 (CPH2651): India, Indonesia, Malaysia
Find X and Find N series, according to The Tech Outlook
- OPPO Find X8 Pro (CPH2659): India, Malaysia, Thailand
- OPPO Find N5 (CPH2671): India, Malaysia, Thailand
Reno 16 series, according to The Tech Outlook
- OPPO Reno 16 5G (CPH2865): India
- OPPO Reno 16 Pro 5G (CPH2863): Indonesia
- OPPO Reno 16 F 5G (CPH2859): India, per the notice. The Tech Outlook flags this as a likely typo, because the phone did not launch in India.
Not yet included
- Singapore, Europe and North America: OPPO says it plans to reach other regions later, with no dates given. Singapore users are already asking about timing in the notice’s comments.
Next on OPPO’s schedule, the Find N3, Find N3 Flip and Reno 15 series are due in November. Our ColorOS 17 schedule post has the full month-by-month list.
How to install ColorOS 17 on the OPPO Find X8
Your Find X8 must be on build CPH2651_16.0.10.500(EX01) to detect the update. OPPO’s notice gives these steps:
- Back up your phone first, as OPPO advises.
- Open Settings > System & update > Software update.
- Tap the top of the page, then tap the icon at the top right.
- Go to Beta program > Release candidate and tap Apply Now.
- Once the update is detected, tap Download Now.
According to Beebom, the update may also show up directly as a normal software update. Beebom lists the ColorOS 17 build as CPH2651_17.0.0.121 and says it carries the October security patch. This is a staged rollout, so not every Find X8 will see it on the same day.
What to expect after updating
OPPO’s ColorOS Team warns that the phone needs time to optimise itself after the upgrade. “This may lead to your device heating, lagging, and having fast battery draining.” OPPO says this should settle within a few days.
OPPO also cautions that some third-party apps may not yet be compatible with Android 17. If you hit a bug, you can report it by dialling *#800# on the phone.
