Pixel Missed-Call Bug Isn’t Fully Fixed, and Pixel 11 Owners Report It

Some Pixel phones are still missing incoming calls, and Google’s fix for the bug isn’t complete four months after users first reported it. Affected phones don’t ring, and the call only shows up later as a missed call. Google shipped an initial fix in a July beta build, then reopened the issue on August 27. Now owners of the new Pixel 11 series report the same missed-call problem.

Android Authority relays a Reddit post from a Pixel 11 Pro XL owner who says about four in every ten calls never ring. A user on Google’s Issue Tracker described the same failure on a Pixel 11 Pro running Android 17. For now, the Pixel 11 part of this story rests on those owner reports.

Google reopened the Pixel missed-call bug in August

Google’s public Issue Tracker shows how the bug has moved since June:

  • June 24: A Google staffer acknowledges the report.
  • July 2: Google says it found the root cause and that the fix is in beta build CP31.260618.005 and later.
  • August 27: Google reopens the issue because some users are still missing calls.
  • September 1: Google asks reporters for details and says it will close the issue in three days without them.

In the August 27 comment that reopened the issue, a Google team member on the company’s Issue Tracker wrote:

While an initial fix was deployed in recent builds (e.g., CP31.260618.005+ Beta Build), we recognize that some users are still experiencing missed call behavior.

As of October 28, the tracker’s status field still shows no update yet. Android Authority says Google has responded to a Reddit complaint about the bug but hasn’t offered a timeline for a fix.

Which Pixel phones and carriers are affected

Reports on Google’s tracker and in Android Authority’s coverage span several Pixel generations:

  • Pixel 6 series: Pixel 6
  • Pixel 7 series: Pixel 7
  • Pixel 9 series: Pixel 9a, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL
  • Pixel 10 series: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • Pixel 11 series (owner reports): Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL

Users have also named a range of carriers, which points away from a single network being the cause:

  • US: AT&T, FirstNet, Spectrum, Google Fi, US Mobile
  • Singapore: GOMO

Google hasn’t said on the tracker how many people are affected. Android Authority noted in June that the bug didn’t seem to hit a large share of users. Still, commenters on the tracker mention emergency on-call rotas and calls from recruiters. For them, one silent missed call carries a real cost.

What Pixel owners can do for now

Google’s August 27 comment asks affected users to file a report through the Android Beta Feedback app. It wants your build number and carrier. It also asks whether you use Wi-Fi Calling, Call Screen or a paired smartwatch.

Google also asks users to confirm that Do Not Disturb is off. The same goes for the Mute phone call while wearing watch setting. These are diagnostic checks, not a fix.

One AT&T Pixel 10 Pro owner on the tracker said turning off Scam Detection and Call Screen stopped the missed calls. The Pixel 11 Pro XL owner in Android Authority’s report says that didn’t help, so results are mixed. Switching both off also removes call-screening protection, which makes it a trade-off rather than a cure.

Google called the July build an initial fix, and the reports kept coming after it shipped. The work of diagnosing the bug has now shifted onto owners filing logs. A phone that silently drops calls is a basic reliability failure, and owners deserve a clear fix date.

This isn’t the only problem Pixel owners have raised recently, after reports of zoomed video dropping the subject on some phones.
