Verizon has started rolling out One UI 9, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S23 series in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are getting the same update. All five phones list a release date of October 23, 2026, along with the October 2026 security patch.
These are 2023 phones, so this is a full OS upgrade rather than a routine patch. The same models got stable One UI 9 in Korea first. The Galaxy S23 then picked it up in Europe. On Verizon, the update already reached the Galaxy S24 series and the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6.
One UI 9 build numbers on Verizon
Verizon lists a separate software version for each model. All five carry the October 2026 security patch.

The previous Verizon update for these phones arrived on September 24, 2026, with the September patch.
What’s new for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5
Verizon’s release notes for the two foldables name two features: Warranty and Care, and Interpreter. Warranty and Care moves device support into the Settings app. From there, you can check warranty coverage across your connected devices and run self-diagnostics. It also shows repair estimates and lets you manage Samsung Care+ or book a service appointment.
Interpreter gains a new History View for translated conversations. Verizon says translation in Conversation Mode is faster, and playback through compatible Galaxy Buds is quicker.
What’s new for the Galaxy S23 series
The notes for the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra are shorter. They promise the latest Android 17 and One UI 9.0 features, plus improvements to the user experience. Warranty and Care isn’t called out for these three phones, only for the two foldables.
How to get One UI 9 on your Verizon Galaxy
Verizon rolls updates out in stages, so your phone may not see it right away. To check manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Droid-Life reports the download is around 4GB on some phones. Back up your phone and free up storage before you start.
