Samsung’s Galaxy A54 is now getting its stable One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, in Europe. Dutch site GalaxyClub reports that firmware A546BXXUNGZJ5 is available in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe. The rollout started in Korea on 28 October. This is the A54’s fourth and final major Android upgrade under Samsung’s promise.

Galaxy A54 One UI 9 update: firmware and regions
- Korea (28 October): firmware A546SKSUKGZJ5, about 274.52MB, with the October 2026 security patch. It reached beta-program phones first, which explains the small download.
- Europe (2 November): firmware A546BXXUNGZJ5, just over 2.5GB, for the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe, per GalaxyClub. It has no new security patch, since the A54 already had October’s.
- India and US: rollout not yet confirmed.
What’s new on the A54
GalaxyClub highlights three changes. There’s a new Warranty and service menu and a new search bar on the home screen. Location privacy also improves, marked by a blue location icon.
Why One UI 9 is the A54’s last major update
The Galaxy A54 launched in March 2023 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. Android 14, 15, 16 and now 17 add up to four OS upgrades. That matches what Samsung promised, as its Philippine newsroom put it:
For a worry-free ownership experience, the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G provide up to five years of security upgrades and four generations of Android OS updates.
So Samsung has kept its OS promise to A54 owners. Security patches should keep coming after this, though. Up to five years from the March 2023 launch points to updates running into early 2028. That date is our own inference, since the promise itself gives no exact end date. The Galaxy S23 series is also getting One UI 9 as its final major update.
Which Galaxy A phones are next?
Expected to follow:
- Galaxy A34: expected soon, according to GalaxyClub. Not confirmed yet.
Not expected to get One UI 9:
- Galaxy A53: stays on One UI 8.0, as far as GalaxyClub knows.

Installing the update and rollout timeline
The European build is a big download at just over 2.5GB. After installing it, GalaxyClub says the phone may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to re-optimise. Some Galaxy owners have also reported Android Auto connection problems after One UI 9.
Korea got the update on 28 October, and Europe followed on 2 November. Rollouts in India and the US have not yet been confirmed.
