AT&T is offering up to $1,200 off the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, paid as bill credits spread over 36 months. Getting the full amount takes AT&T’s Premium 2.0 plan or higher and a trade-in worth at least $95.
On AT&T’s product page, the 256GB Fold8 lists at $1,899.99, or $52.78 a month over 36 months. With an eligible trade-in, the monthly figure drops to $19.45. AT&T’s own fine print says credits vary by trade-in and plan, and may be less than the headline number.
The offer is open to new and existing customers, whether they activate a new line or upgrade an existing one. Android Police described the deal as needing an added line. AT&T’s offer terms, however, also list upgrading an existing line. The same offer covers the Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Fold8 Ultra.
How much the Galaxy Z Fold8 deal is worth on each AT&T plan
The $1,200 figure is a ceiling. What you actually get depends on two things: your unlimited plan and what your old phone is worth.
- Premium 2.0 or higher (from $100 a month, single line): up to $1,200 off with a $95+ trade-in, or up to $1,000 with a trade-in worth $35 to $94. Select retired unlimited plans also qualify for this tier.
- Extra 2.0 (from $80 a month): up to $1,000 off with a $95+ trade-in, or up to $800 with $35 to $94.
- Value 2.0 (from $60 a month): up to $500 off with a trade-in worth $35 or more.
- Legacy Starter and Starter SL: up to $800 off.
- Not eligible: AT&T 55+, Value Plus, Value Plus VL and Value Plus Unlimited.
The bigger storage tiers cost more before credits. The 512GB model is $58.34 a month and the 1TB model is $69.45 a month.
At the top tier, the 256GB phone works out to about $700 over three years. You still pay sales tax on the full $1,899.99, plus an activation or upgrade fee of up to $35 per line.

The largest credits only come with AT&T’s pricier plans. Before switching to Premium 2.0, compare what it would add to your monthly bill against what you pay now.
The catch: 36 months tied to AT&T
The discount isn’t paid up front. It arrives as monthly credits on a 36-month installment plan, which ties the phone and the line together for three years.
- Financing: requires a 0% APR, 36-month installment agreement. Well-qualified buyers pay $0 down, while others may need a down payment.
- Credit timing: credits start within three bills.
- Leaving early: canceling service stops the credits, and the remaining device balance comes due. Paying off the phone early or upgrading may also stop credits.
- New lines: if you add a line, canceling any other line within 90 days can stop the credits.
- Trade-in: the old phone must be fully paid off and mailed back within 30 days.
This is the same bill-credit structure we covered for AT&T’s $1,200 iPhone Duo deal. T-Mobile uses a similar 36-month setup for its Galaxy Z Flip8 deal.
AT&T lists no end date and says the offer can change at any time without notice. The page also shows other promotions, such as a switching offer, which are separate from this $1,200 figure.
How this compares with AT&T’s July Fold8 offer
In July, AT&T’s offer made the Fold8 free with a trade-in through up to $1,900 in bill credits, as we covered at the time. The current offer tops out at $1,200 instead. Even in the best case, a buyer now pays roughly $700 for the 256GB model, plus tax and fees.
