ASUS has begun rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to the Fonepad 7.
Both the Fonepad 7 2013 and 2014 models are getting the update.
The firmware is available from ASUS’ support website.
Here is the change log for the update:
ASUS Fonepad 7 (ME175CG) Software Image Version: WW_V6.3.7 For WW SKU only
Improve Items:
- 1. Android OS migration to Lollipop 5.0
- 2. Please note that Android 5.0 Lollipop does not support some pre-installed apps.
- The listed apps below will be removed once the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade is complete.
- Widget – Battery
The update is about 737.58 MB in size.
Note: You can only update to Lollipop, if your device is running on Android KitKat.
You can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > About > System Updates > Check for updates.
Recently, ASUS posted an update roadmap for the Zenfone 4, 5, 6 and Padfone S. The first three were touted to receive the Lollipop update in May, while the latter is scheduled to be updated in June. The Fonepad 7 wasn’t mentioned in the roadmap, but it is getting the update before the Zenfones.
