Journalists are reportedly getting invitations from Apple for a launch event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported the invites, and MacRumors relayed his post. Apple has not confirmed the invites, the event or the products.

The products haven’t changed from earlier reports. Gurman expects touchscreen MacBooks, a new iPad mini and Macs with M6 chips. MacRumors says he calls the Los Angeles event an “all-day product launch experience.”
The origin is a post Gurman shared on X. This account relies on MacRumors’ description of that post, since we could not read the post itself.
Apple’s October 28 event: reported vs. unconfirmed
The new invite adds a second date to the picture. Here is where each piece stands:
- Reported earlier: Apple introduces the devices on or around Tuesday, October 27, with an online video presentation and a hands-on for media.
- Reported now: a media gathering in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28.
- Not confirmed by anyone: the actual announcement day, plus prices and specs.
According to MacRumors, Gurman’s newest post does not say whether the announcements happen on October 28 or before it. The two dates don’t necessarily conflict. Still, nobody has pinned down the announcement day.
We covered the October 27 timing in our post on the reported October 27 touchscreen MacBook Pro event. That post has the fuller product breakdown.
What Apple is expected to show
Per Gurman’s reporting, the lineup includes:
- Touchscreen MacBooks
- A new iPad mini
- Macs with M6 chips
The MacRumors report gives no prices, specs or availability dates for any of them. Our earlier report on Apple’s second October wave of Macs and iPad mini has more background on the timing.
This would be Apple’s second launch of the month, after the October 13 date Apple confirmed earlier. Until Apple sends something official, treat the October 28 details as reporting rather than a schedule.
