iQOO Neo12 Tipped for October With a 2K 185Hz Screen and a Fan

The iQOO Neo12 is being tipped for an October launch with a custom 2K-plus 185Hz display and an active cooling fan. The source is Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, and all of this is rumour at this stage. As of October 9, iQOO has not confirmed the phone or any of these specifications.

The display is the headline claim

Digital Chat Station describes a custom panel running 2K-plus resolution at 185Hz. The tipster says it uses Visionox’s fourth-generation pTSF technology. The claim is that the Neo12 would be the first phone to carry it. Both halves of that need caution, since nothing here comes from iQOO.

A fan, not just a heat pipe

The cooling claim is the more interesting one. The tipster points to an active cooling fan rather than passive cooling alone. That would be paired with iQOO’s own Q3 gaming co-processor, a chip first introduced on the iQOO 15. The Q3 offloads GPU work to help hold frame rates steady.

The main chipset is tipped as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. On design, Digital Chat Station describes a continuation of the existing Neo family look. That includes a metal frame and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

What nobody has said yet

The gaps matter as much as the claims. The exact launch date, pricing, camera hardware and final battery capacity are all still unknown.

It is also worth being clear about the sourcing. Several outlets have carried these specifications, but they all trace back to the same tipster. That is one tipster being relayed, not several independent confirmations.

How the Neo11 sets the bar

The predecessor is the useful reference point. The iQOO Neo11 launched last October with a 6.82-inch BOE Q10+ panel at 2K and 144Hz. It ran a Snapdragon 8 Elite and started at 2,599 yuan for the 12GB plus 256GB configuration.

Nothing about this year’s pricing has been tipped, so treat that figure as history rather than a forecast. For more on the line, see our coverage of the iQOO Neo 11 Ultra launch. An earlier leak about the next Neo’s battery and display is also worth a look.
