Apple is reportedly planning a second wave of product launches for the final week of October, according to MacRumors. New Macs lead the list, with a new iPad mini also in the frame. The report comes with a caveat worth repeating. MacRumors calls its specific product list the “most likely possibilities” rather than a confirmed line-up.

How October is shaping up
Three dates are now in play, and they are not all the same kind of event.
- October 13: the all-new home hub, a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K, per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. We covered that wave in detail — see Apple Will Reportedly Unveil Its Smart Home Hub on October 13.
- October 23: the iPhone Duo goes on sale, ten days after the home hub date.
- Final week of October: the newly reported second wave, centred on Macs.
The Macs in the rumoured wave
MacRumors names three Mac candidates for that last-week slot. One is an OLED-display machine referred to as a “MacBook Ultra.” Another is a thinner 14-inch MacBook Pro built around an M6 chip. The third is an M6 iMac. None of these is confirmed, and MacRumors is explicit that it is listing likely candidates.
One Mac in that window is not a rumour at all. Apple has already announced a high-end Mac Studio configuration with an M5 Ultra chip and 512GB of memory, due in late October. That gives the reported second wave at least one product Apple has publicly committed to.
Where the iPad mini fits
A new iPad mini is also expected during October. The rumoured specification covers an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape front camera and redesigned speakers. MacRumors says the timing is the open question. The tablet could appear on October 13, during the final week, or on its own separate date.
Earlier backend findings pointed the same way. Our report on the HomePod mini 2, iPad mini 8 and Apple TV 4K leak found these devices referenced in Apple’s own systems.
What to watch for
Apart from that Mac Studio configuration, the late-October line-up rests on MacRumors’ sourcing as of October 6. Treat the product list as provisional until Apple says otherwise. Press invites, or a quiet press-release drop in the days after October 13, would be the first real confirmation either way.
