ASUS announces permanent ZenFone Max Pro M1 price drop for all variants

ASUS has announced a permanent ZenFone Max Pro M1 price drop. And this affects all variants in the line up of what we thought was the best value for money phone of 2018.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 price drop
The news isn’t surprising considering that the Zenfone Max M2 and the Zenfone Max Pro M2 are priced almost the same as the Max Pro M1. Also, we need to consider the fact that the company confirmed there will be no price hike for any Zenfone device, which was a very welcome move, given that another company had done the opposite.

Now back to the news at hand, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 had originally been launched starting at Rs. 10,999, in April 2018. The device dropped in price to Rs. 9,999 regularly during the Flipkart’s sales, and to as low as Rs. 8,999 in the recently concluded year-end sale.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 price drop brings the 3GB/32GB variant down from Rs. 10,999 to Rs. 9,999. The 4GB/64GB variant sees it price drop from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 11,999. The higher end variant of the Max Pro M1, i.e., the 6GB/64GB variant will retail for Rs. 13,999, instead of the original launch price of Rs. 14,999.

We aren’t really sure if the Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be available for long though. Given that the Max Pro M2 with a superior design, and slightly better specs is available for Rs. 12,999, and because the Max Pro M1 is nearly 9 months old, there is the possibility that the company wants to empty its inventory, which may be the reason of this price cut.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 price drop is already in effect, and you can buy any of the variants from Flipkart, at the new prices. We think that the Max Pro M1 is still a solid device, and the phone will be updated to Android 9 Pie in February.
