Xiaomi has launched the Mi 5s in China. As the name suggests, the phone outdoes the Mi 5, with a more high end spec sheet.
The Mi 5s sports a 5.15-inch with 16 ultra-bright, power-efficient LED lights for an incredibly bright display of 600 nit, 95% NTSC colour gamut, 1500: 1 contrast ratio and a pixel density of 428 PPI,
The phone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, clocked at 2.15 GHz, with an Adreno 530 GPU. It runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and comes in two variants, one with 64GB of internal storage and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and one with 128GB storage and 4GB of RAM, and both use UFS 2.0 (which is much faster than eMMc 5.1)
The camera department of the Mi 5s comprises of a 12 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor, Dual Tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 80° wide angle, Optical Image Stabilization, Phase Detect Auto Focus, and 4K Video Recording and 120 fps slo-mo videos, and a 4 megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 80 wide angle lens for selfies.
The phone features a physical home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. This is actually an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner with 3D touch. By applying pressure on the display, you can scan your fingerprint.
The Mi 5s comes with a USB Type-C connector, and bottom placed speakers. The phone has a unibody metal design with antenna lines across the back panel. Connectivity options on the device includes 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS and more.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s has been priced at 1999 Yuan for the 64GB/3GB variant (around Rs. 20000) , and 2299 Yuan (around Rs 23000) for the 128GB/4GB variant in China.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus is slightly larger with a 5.7 inch Full HD 1080p display with 550 nit luminance, 94% NTSC Color Gamut, a pixel density of 386 PPI, and 1300: 1 contrast ratio.
The Mi 5s Plus sports a 3800 mAh battery, and has a slightly over clocked processor. The phone comes in two variants: one with 64GB of internal storage and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and one with 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM The phones’s highlight is the dual rear camera setup which consists of two 13 megapixel lenses (one RGB and one Black and White sensor) for accurate colored photos.
