Leaked Redmi Pro 2 teaser confirm design ahead of official launch

JUst ahead of the official launch of Redmi as a separate brand with Redmi Pro 2 expected to be the first device (possibly) with the new brand, a new render image of the alleged upcoming device has surfaced which looks like a teaser promo of Redmi Pro 2 (possibly) talking about the new 48MP main rear camera bring four times better clarity to photos.

The teaser also reveals the design of the phone and we can clearly see the waterdrop display at front with dual camera module at rear aligned vertically on the left side. The fingerprint sensor isn’t visible but we have seen it with TENAA images at the conventional place on the rear. It also reveals three colour options of the device i.e. Black, Pink and Blue.

We just need to wait for two days more and we will have all the official details.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 Official Renders listed, to feature 6.3-inch Display and 3900 mAh battery

Apart from the alleged hardware specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2, official renders of the device have surfaced on Chinese Certification Agency TENAA confirming the design of the phone. These renders confirm the dual camera module of the phone at the rear along with LED flash & the fingerprint sensor module. We can also see the REDMI branding at the bottom of the rear panel instead of Mi, confirming the separation of Redmi brand from Xiaomi. On the front, we can see the waterdrop display. The power button and Volume rocker buttons are on one side. The colour of the back panel appears to use a gradient colour of pink and blue.

TENAA listing also reveals that Redmi Pro 2 comes with a 6.3-inch display and is backed by a 3900 mAh battery. In terms of dimensions, it measures 159.21×75.21×8.1(mm). The listing is yet to reveal other hardware specifications of the device.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 specifications leak ahead of Jan 10 launch

Xiaomi is set to announce a new Redmi smartphone on January 10 in China with Redmi as a separate sub-brand. With the official separation of brand name, Xiaomi is expected to concentrate on flagship devices under Mi name. We have already reported about alleged Xiaomi Mi 9 hardware specifications that is expected to launch in March 2019.

The new phone from Redmi that is expected to be launched on January 10 is the Redmi Pro 2. Most of you may have not heard about the first Redmi Pro smartphone that was launched more than two years ago in July 2016. Over the years, Xiaomi forgot the Redmi Pro series and now with a separate brand, they have finally decided to bring the series back to life with Redmi Pro 2.

Redmi Pro 2 Specification

The alleged hardware specifications of Redmi Pro 2 have surfaced on the web which indicates that the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 (though the first generation of Redmi Pro was powered by a MediaTek processor). As per leak, Redmi Pro 2 sports a 6.4 inch LCD Full HD+ display having an aspect ratio of 19: 9 and includes a fingerprint sensor at the rear just like Xiaomi Mi Play.

In terms of camera, it features a 24MP selfie camera with Sony IMX576 sensor while on the rear, there is a dual camera module with 48MP + 5MP sensors. The phone runs on Xiaomi MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system. It is backed by a 000 mAh battery and comes with an 18W charger.

Redmi Pro 2 Price?

The leak indicates the price of the base variant as 1799 Yuan (~Rs. 18,000) even though the leak fails to reveal the RAM + ROM details.
