Refurbished Nexus 4 by GreenDust: As good as new

Indian consumers now are getting one more option for buying smartphones and other devices in the form of Refurbished or unboxed units. These refurbished or unboxed units are sold by companies such as Greendust who source these products from the companies, with minor defects either due to the manufacturing process or as a return from buyers with some minor damages or just a unboxed product with seal broken.

Greendust then check the products, repairs them if required and sell them online at discounted prices along with 6 months warranty either from manufacturer or else Greendust itself .

Greendust refurbished Nexus 4-

We got one such device from Greendust i.e a Refurbished/unboxed Nexus 4 which fortunately is the same device that I have used for years as my primary smartphone. We used the device for almost a week.

The Nexus 4 retail unit was packed with Greendust own packing. We opened it up and found out the retail unit of Nexus 4. The outer wrapper of the unit was old with a small mark and a bit dusty but inside it, the black box packing of the unit appeared just like a new box. Inside that box, we got the Nexus 4 smartphone which surprisingly was almost new with no scratches, no signs of any damage or even some minor marks anywhere on the device.

Nexus 4 though wasnt charged and we needed to charge the device to boot it up. It booted up well without any issues. On first boot we were surprised to see that Nexus 4 was already running Android 5.1.1 without any update. Keep in mind that original Nexus 4 came with Android 4.2 JellyBean.

We used the smartphone for almost a week and did not encounter any issues. It worked fine without any issues. The battery life was normal just as a new device. There was no hiccups or any random sign of any bug or defect.

This is not a usual new smartphone review where we review other aspects of the smartphone. This is just a normal usage brief review if the refurbished Nexus 4 is good enough to buy or not.

If all the refurbished or unboxed products are as good as the review unit that we used, then we can recommend users to buy them provided the price offers a decent discount compared to the price of a new unit of same device.
