Verizon will charge $10 a month for iPhone Handoff, the iOS 27 feature that lets one phone number work across two iPhones. That is twice the $5 a month T-Mobile charges for the same feature.
Verizon hasn’t announced a launch date. It says Handoff is “coming soon,” and its newsroom post on iPhone Duo pre-orders states the price plainly:
iPhone Handoff will be available from Verizon for $10/month on compatible iPhones models running iOS 27.

How iPhone Handoff works on Verizon
Handoff lets you share one Verizon number across two compatible iPhones running iOS 27. Verizon’s release names the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo among the compatible models. It does not present those two as a complete list.
According to MacRumors, a number can only be active on one iPhone at a time. You switch which of the two phones is the active one.
Verizon’s release places the fee inside a paragraph about customer flexibility. The cost itself is simpler than that framing. It is $10 every month to move your own number between two iPhones you may already own. Over a year, that comes to $120.
How Verizon’s Handoff price compares
MacRumors rounded up what other carriers charge or plan to do:
- T-Mobile (US): $5 a month, already supported.
- AT&T (US): recently suggested it has no imminent plans to support Handoff.
- EE (UK): free on the Full Works Plus plan, £5 a month for other EE customers.
- Deutsche Telekom (Germany): €6.95 a month, free on MagentaMobil L and XL.
In the US, that leaves Verizon at twice T-Mobile’s price, with AT&T signalling no near-term support. We covered T-Mobile’s $5 Handoff fee and AT&T’s position on Handoff in September.
When Handoff arrives on Verizon
Verizon hasn’t given a date. MacRumors says Apple previously said Verizon would adopt the feature before the end of the year. We haven’t seen that commitment from Apple directly, so treat it as MacRumors’ account until Verizon names a date.
