Pixel 11 pre-orders open on 12 August, the same day as Google’s Made by Google event. That is now a commitment on Google’s own storefront, which has handed its homepage to a Pixel 11 teaser reading “Google Pixel 11 series. Pre-order August 12,” alongside a landing page headed “The next generation. Google Pixel 11. 12 August.”
What Google has actually confirmed
Three things, all from Google directly:
- Date: The Made by Google event is 12 August, and Google’s page invites you to “Tune in live to see our newest devices launch.”
- Pre-orders: Also 12 August, for the Pixel 11 series.
- A sign-up offer: Register your email with the Google Store and you get “an exclusive offer on eligible Pixel Buds or Pixel Watch when you buy them with a new Pixel 11 series phone.” It is limited to Google Store subscribers, and there is a cut-off: the India store lists 8 August, 12:29 PM IST, which is 7 August, 11:59 PM PT.
Worth being clear-eyed about that last one. Google is not telling you what the offer is worth before asking for your email address, and the discount is conditional on buying an accessory with the phone. It is a mailing-list sign-up first and a deal second.
The light on the camera bar
The teaser image is deliberately dark, but one detail is unmissable: a small circular light sitting inside the camera bar, above the lens, rendered in a pink-to-blue gradient. Two handsets are shown with what looks like a gold or copper frame and a warmer back panel.
Leaks have been calling this element “Pixel Glow” and describing it as a colour-capable notification light that can tell you something is happening while the phone is face down. That behaviour is not confirmed. Google has shown the hardware and named nothing. What the teaser establishes is that a multi-colour light source exists in the camera bar of at least one Pixel 11 model — everything about what it does is still expectation.
If it does work as a notification light, it would be a genuinely useful revival of a feature Android quietly dropped years ago, and one that works without waking the display. Until Google demonstrates it, though, that is a guess about a light we have only seen switched on in a marketing render. Wait for the demo.
What is still missing
No prices, no storage tiers, no chip details, no confirmation of which markets get day-one availability. Pricing has leaked in Europe and the UK — we covered the leaked Pixel 11 UK pricing and battery capacities earlier today — but none of it comes from Google, and there is still no announced India launch date or India pricing for the series. Two weeks to go.
