Moto razr foldable phone announced for $1500; sans a headphone jack, physical SIM slot, microSD and wireless charging

The Moto razr 2019 foldable phone is official. It uses the iconic 2005 Moto razr‘s clamshell design, with an external display on the outside.

It is a 2.7-inch qOLED touch screen panel, with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 600 x 800 pixels. You can use it for taking selfies, viewing notifications, playing music, etc.

Also on the external display, is the 16MP Sony IMX 519 main camera of the phone, which means you can use it to take selfies when the device is folded, and as a rear camera when it is unhinged. The lens has an f/1.7 aperture, 1.22um pixel size, supports Electronic Image Stabilization, Dual Pixel autofocus and Laser autofocus.

The primary display is a Flex View foldable screen which opens up into a 6.2” plastic OLED panel which has a 2142 x 876 pixels screen ratio, and supports 21:9 Cinemavision aspect ratio. It has a large notch at the top where the 5MP selfie camera is located. The lens has an f/2.0 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. The large chin is home to a fingerprint scanner.

The Moto razr 2019 runs on Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is powered by a 2510mAh battery which supports 15W TurboPower charging over a USB Type-C port.

Sadly, the Moto razr 2019 foldable phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. And it doesn’t have a physical SIM card slot, so you’ll need to use an eSIM. There is no wireless charging for the battery either.
