Huawei Mate X listed on TENAA; hints at China launch

The Huawei Mate X has been spotted on TENAA. In case you have forgotten, Huawei unveiled the foldable phone at MWC 2019.

But the phone wasn’t launched anywhere, perhaps owing to Samsung’s woes with the Galaxy Fold. However, things may have improved for Huawei, since the device has been certified by China’s mobile authority.

Here’s a recap of the device’s hardware. The Huawei Mate X sports an 8-inch foldable Quad HD+ display which when folded transforms to a 6.6-inch device with an extra screen at the back panel.

The device is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, with a Balong 5000 5G modem, and a Mali-G76 GPU. The Huawei Mate X TENAA listing says that the phone will be available in 3 variants; 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM, with 128GB/256GB/512GB of internal storage. An NM card slot supports upto 256GB of expandable memory.

The Huawei Mate X features triple Leica cameras with a 40 MP wide angle lens, a 16 MP ultra wide angle lens and an 8MP Telephoto lens. The device is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery, which supports 55W HUAWEI SuperCharge, over a USB Type-C port. Sadly, the Mate X does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
