Galaxy A35, A17 and M17 Start Getting Stable One UI 9 in India

Stable One UI 9 is rolling out to the Galaxy A35 in India, SamMobile and SammyFans report. The update is based on Android 17. Both outlets list the same firmware, A356EXXUBEZJ2, after the update first went out in South Korea last week. Both also say the build reaches users outside the beta program, not just beta testers. SammyFans puts the download at 2,754.94MB with the October 2026 security patch.

The Galaxy A17 and Galaxy M17 are also getting One UI 9, with India among the first markets for both. SamMobile and SammyFans report the same M17 build, while the A17 build comes from SamMobile. Neither outlet reports a US rollout for any of the three phones so far.

Galaxy A35, A17 and M17 One UI 9 rollout details

Here is what each phone is getting, based on the reported firmware:

  • Galaxy A35: India, firmware A356EXXUBEZJ2, 2,754.94MB, October 2026 patch (SamMobile, SammyFans)
  • Galaxy M17: India first, firmware M176BXXU8DZJ5, about 2.4GB (SammyFans; SamMobile lists 2,439.86MB), October 2026 patch per SammyFans
  • Galaxy A17: India among the first regions after a Korea-only release, firmware A176BXXU8DZJ5, 2,340.85MB (SamMobile)

The A17 build comes from SamMobile alone, which credits X user Kailash for spotting it. 9to5Google’s Android 17 tracker also lists the A17 as updated, though it doesn’t cite a source.

The Galaxy M56 and F17 started getting the same update last week, as covered in our Galaxy M54 and F70 Pro report.

What One UI 9 adds to the Galaxy A35, A17 and M17

The changelog, as reproduced by SamMobile, includes these highlights:

  • Quick panel: Resize the brightness and volume sliders and the media player, and split out the sound-mode button.
  • Quick lockdown: Press and hold Volume down and Side, or tap the Power button in the Quick panel, to disable biometrics for the next unlock.
  • Location indicator: A blue indicator appears when an app accesses your location.
  • Warranty and care: A new menu in Settings.
  • Samsung Health: A redesigned app.

Quick lockdown and the location indicator are the privacy additions worth knowing about. One turns off biometric unlock on demand, and the other shows you when an app checks where you are.

How to check for One UI 9 on your Galaxy phone

Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The rollout is staged, so the update may not appear right away. Galaxy A55 owners can read about its stable One UI 9 update in Europe and India.
