Galaxy M54 and Galaxy F70 Pro Start Getting Stable One UI 9

Stable One UI 9 (Android 17) is rolling out to the Galaxy M54 and Galaxy F70 Pro, SamMobile and SammyFans report. For the 2023 Galaxy M54, this should be its last major Android upgrade. The phone launched on Android 13 with Samsung’s promise of four OS upgrades, which runs out at Android 17.

The Galaxy F70 Pro sits at the other end of its support life. It launched in August 2026 with Android 16 and One UI 8.5. This update is the first of the six major OS upgrades Samsung promised for it.

Galaxy Phones Getting One UI 9 in This Rollout

Reported by SamMobile and SammyFans

  • Galaxy F70 Pro: build E476BXXU3BZJ1, rolling out in India and Sri Lanka
  • Galaxy M54: build M546BXXUFGZJ3; SamMobile says Samsung is rolling it out globally, and neither outlet names a specific country

Single-source report: Galaxy M56 and Galaxy F17

SammyGuru reports that One UI 9 is also reaching the Galaxy M56 and Galaxy F17, starting in India. Its source is X user Kailash. That is one outlet relaying one tipster, so treat it as unconfirmed for now.

  • Galaxy M56: build M566BXXU7DZJ1
  • Galaxy F17: build E176BXXU8DZJ5

Per that report, the download weighs 2.2 to 2.5GB and includes the October 2026 security patch.

Four Upgrades for the M54, Six for the F70 Pro

Samsung’s four-upgrade launch promise for the Galaxy M54 makes Android 17 its final major OS update. The phone was also promised five years of security updates, so patches should continue after this. It joins a wider group of phones for which One UI 9 is the last major update.

The contrast with newer models is clear. The M54 gets four OS upgrades, while the Galaxy F70 Pro gets six. That is two extra Android versions for buyers of the newer phone.

What’s New in One UI 9 on the Galaxy M54 and F70 Pro

  • Quick Panel: more customization, including slider sizes and a separate sound-mode button
  • Warranty and care: a new menu in Settings
  • Quick lock: a lock option that disables biometrics
  • Location indicator: a blue indicator when an app accesses your location
  • Samsung Health: a redesign with trends, heart health scores, cardio load, a fitness index, a hearing tracker and cycle tracking
  • Bixby: conversation management and a home screen widget
  • Accessibility: text spotlight, keyboard shortcuts, mouse keys and Select to speak
  • Lock screen: a redesigned default clock that adapts to the wallpaper

SammyFans notes that the M and F series don’t get Samsung’s Galaxy AI tools.

How to Check for the One UI 9 Update

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Tap Software update.
  3. Tap Download and install.

The rollout is staged, so availability varies by region and the update may not show up right away. Samsung has been working through its mid-range lineup, after the Galaxy A26 got stable One UI 9. You can check whether your phone is due on our One UI 9 eligibility list.
