Do you have drafts, direct messages or bookmarks saved on the Samsung Members Community? Samsung’s US Community notice says the forum goes offline for a platform migration. The outage runs from 5 AM ET on October 30 to 5 AM ET on November 2. Several kinds of data won’t move to the new platform, so anything you want to keep needs saving before October 30.
SamMobile puts the start of the shutdown at 2:30 PM IST on October 30 for readers in India. The notice itself is posted on Samsung’s US Community. Whether other regional communities are affected is unconfirmed.

What Goes Offline During the Samsung Community Migration
- Samsung Members app: the Community is fully restricted, including reading, posting, commenting and editing profiles
- Samsung Members website: partially restricted, though you can still read existing posts and comments
- Beta program: Beta Help and beta community features are restricted, while the rest of the beta program keeps working
- Everything else: other Samsung Members services keep running, and Samsung says your phone itself isn’t affected
The notice is labelled a schedule change, so this window replaces an earlier planned date.
What Won’t Be Migrated
- Draft posts
- Dormant beginner accounts: Beginner Level 1 and 2 accounts with no login in the six months before the migration
- Direct messages
- Bookmarks
- Subscriptions: post, board and keyword subscriptions
Samsung also warns that some past posts, comments and attached images may be partly lost or altered in the move. It recommends taking screenshots or saving files to your device. The notice is blunt about what happens if you don’t:
“Please note that restoring or recovering unbacked data may not be supported.”
How to Back Up Your Samsung Community Data Before October 30
- Publish or copy out your drafts. Drafts don’t migrate, so post them or paste the text somewhere safe.
- Log in to old beginner accounts. If you have a Beginner Level 1 or 2 account you haven’t used in six months, sign in once before October 30. That switches it to active.
- Export your DMs and bookmarks. Request them through Download My Data on Samsung’s privacy site. You don’t need to log in to the community for this.
- Save your own posts and photos. The export doesn’t include your community content, so screenshot or save your posts, replies and photos yourself.
- Write down your subscriptions. Note the posts, boards and keyword alerts you follow so you can add them back after November 2.
Rule Changes After the Migration
The notice calls the migration an upgrade. Several of the new rules take control away from users, though.
- Deleting your content: you can’t delete a post once it has comments, or a comment once it has replies
- DM subject lines: no longer supported
- Reporting: covers the whole chatroom only, not individual messages
- Accepted solutions: only top-level comments can be accepted, not replies
The deletion rule is the one to watch. Once someone responds, you lose the ability to remove what you wrote. Combined with an export tool that skips your own posts, users end up with less control over their content than before. It follows another Samsung service change that dropped features, when Samsung Health cut off Together for users under 18.
If you only read the forum, you can still browse existing posts on the web during the outage. If you post there, give yourself time to save everything before October 30.
