Oppo Find X9 series owners in India, Indonesia and Malaysia can now install the official ColorOS 17 build, based on Android 17. The Find N6 gets the same early access in Thailand. That puts these phones roughly six days ahead of the October 29 global start date.

There is a catch, though. This is not an automatic over-the-air push. Owners have to apply through the Release Candidate option, which sits inside the Beta program menu in Settings. Oppo still labels the build its official version, and phones that don’t opt in will get it through the normal rollout later.
Which Oppo Phones Can Install ColorOS 17 Early
Oppo posted a separate “[Official Version]” thread for each model on its community forum, dated October 23. The early list covers five phones:
- Find X9 Ultra: India, Indonesia, Malaysia
- Find X9 Pro: India, Indonesia, Malaysia
- Find X9: India, Indonesia, Malaysia
- Find X9s: India, Indonesia, Malaysia
- Find N6: Thailand only
These threads don’t open the Release Candidate to any other region. Owners of the same phones elsewhere, and of other Oppo models, are waiting on the scheduled rollout.
Check Your Build Number Before You Apply
Oppo requires each phone to be on one of a few specific builds before it can apply. Here is the list from each thread:
- Find X9 Ultra: CPH2841_16.0.10.500(EX01), CPH2841_16.0.10.600(EX01) or CPH2841_16.0.10.602(EX01)
- Find X9 Pro: CPH2791_16.0.10.500(EX01) or CPH2791_16.0.10.600(EX01)
- Find X9: CPH2797_16.0.10.500(EX01) or CPH2797_16.0.10.600(EX01)
- Find X9s: CPH2873_16.0.9.401(EX01), CPH2873_16.0.10.500(EX01) or CPH2873_16.0.10.520(EX01)
- Find N6: CPH2765_16.0.9.400(EX01) or CPH2765_16.0.10.500(EX01)
Phones on any other build are not covered by these threads.
Find N6: Thailand Only for Now
The Find N6 is the only foldable in this early batch, and only Thai units qualify. Find N6 owners in other markets are on the October 29 date from Oppo’s global schedule.

The application steps are the same on the foldable as on the Find X9 phones.
How to Apply for the ColorOS 17 Release Candidate
Back up your phone before you start. That is Oppo’s own first instruction in every thread.
- Open Settings > System & update > Software update.
- Tap the top of the page, then tap the icon in the top-right corner.
- Choose Beta program > Release candidate, then tap Apply Now.
- Once the phone detects the update, tap Download Now.
What Oppo Says to Expect After the Update
Oppo is upfront that the first few days may be rough. The system optimises itself after installation, which the company says can cause heating, lag and fast battery drain. Its suggestion is to charge overnight with the screen off, or simply wait a few days.
Oppo also says some third-party apps are not compatible with Android 17. Update your apps from the App Market after installing. If you hit a bug, dial *#800# to report it.
Should You Apply or Wait?
If your phone is your only device for work or travel this week, waiting is the safer call. Oppo’s earlier global schedule puts the Find X9 series and Find N6 on October 29. The threads themselves don’t say when the automatic push reaches people who skip the opt-in.
Owners outside these four countries have no early option at all. Oppo’s message to them is brief:
“And we plan to cover all users, including other regions, later. Please wait patiently!”
