ASUS has released a Zenfone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 Update which ships in the the December Security Patch for the devices. That’s not all that the OTA Update brings, though we are certainly surprised because the November  Security Patch had only been released 2 weeks ago.

ASUS Zenfone Max M2 Update

Let’s start with the ZenFone Max M2.

ZenFone Max M2 Update

The update’s FOTA version is 15.2016.1812.145. The company states that it has improved the fingerprint registration on the device. EIS support for the Zenfone Max M2 has been added for the front camera, while the main camera’s performance has also been optimized.

ZenFone Max Pro M2 Update

And now for the bigger device. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 Update has the FOTA version 15.2016.1812.179. The OTA update adds in optimizations for the text translation and the camera’s UI. The touch screen firmware has been upgraded, while the FM Radio’s noise reduction has been enhanced.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 Update

The Zenfone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 Update is being rolled out in batches, and should be available for all users soon. ASUS did promise the Android Pie Update for the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will arrive in January, hopefully it will live up to it.

The Zenfone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 are available on open sale on Flipkart, though there aren’t any cashback or extra exchange offers for either phone at the moment. Rumour has it that there will be sale before Republic Day, if you want to wait for some offers.

Don’t forget to read about the Zenfone Max Pro M1 price drop, which makes the previous gen phone more affordable. If you don’t mind the bezels, the Max Pro M1 is still a stellar phone.
