Google Wallet is rolling out a redesigned look for passes on Android. Open a boarding pass, loyalty card, or ticket, and the screen fills with that pass’s own color. Every element inside gets tinted to match. The change arrives in Google Wallet app version 26.32.962917069, according to Android Authority, which first spotted the redesign months ago as a test build.
How to switch back, for now
Open a pass under the new design and there’s an option labeled “Switch to previous view.” Tapping it returns that pass to the plain, uncolored layout Google Wallet has used for years. Android Authority reports that Google is expected to remove this opt-out in a future app update. Anyone who prefers the old look should get used to using it while it still exists.
This is a server-side rollout, not something tied to a specific app update you can install today. Android Authority says the new look only reached “a couple of” its own test devices by publication. That means most users will see it appear gradually over the coming weeks, not all at once.
Google has not published its own announcement or blog post about the redesign. Some reported details remain unconfirmed, including whether the change extends to boarding passes and manually created passes.
