Motorola Defy is a rugged phone that can survive drops, water, sand, and extreme temperatures

The Motorola Defy that was leaked a few days ago, has been officially announced by the company. Here’s what the rugged phone has to offer.

The Motorola Defy is equipped with a 6.5-inches HD+ that has a 20:9 Aspect Ratio, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus

The rugged smartphone is drop proof up to 1.8 metres. It is IP68 certified waterproof, dustproof and sand proof. The device can survive extreme temperatures, and has been MIL SPEC 810H tested in conditions from -25º C to +55º C.

Moto Defy 2021 design

The bezels are big and the phone measures 169.8 x 78.2 x 10.9mm. It is quite heavy at 232g, but this is to be expected given the device’s build quality.

The Motorola Defy runs on Android 10 but will be upgradeable to Android 11. The Lenovo-owned company has promised to provide security updates for 2 years. The handset has an 8MP selfie lens housed in a water-drop notch.

The main cameras on the rear consist of a 48MP f/1.8 aperture primary lens, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and an LED Flash.

Moto Defy 2021 Forged Green

A 5000mAh battery is packed in to the phone and it can be charged using a Type-C port. The device supports 20W fast charging. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor with an Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and has a microSD card slot.

Motorola Defy price in Europe

The Motorola Defy has been priced at €329 / £279, and will be available in Europe, UK and select Latin American countries. It comes in 2 colourways: Black and Forged Green.The device is eligible for a 2-year warranty.
