Xiaomi Mi 6 listed on 3C, Retail Box leaks; reveal specifications

A new smartphone from Xiaomi has listed on Chinese 3C certification which seems to be Xiaomi Mi 6. The model is listed as MCE16 and it comes with a 3A charger which clearly means the fast charger.  The charger specification is listed as 5V 3A charger which means a 15W charger. 3C listing suggests that Xiaomi Mi 6 official launch may be round the corner.

Apart from this 3C listing, an alleged retail box of Xiaomi Mi 6 has also leaked which also gives us a sneak peek into the technical specifications of the Xiaomi’s flagship device. If you zoom up the retail box image a bit, you can see the display size of 5.15 inch along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor powering the device. A battery of 3200 mAh capacity is also visible. It also indicates a 12 MP main rear camera and a 4 MP front shooter which is odd. We do not have more details about the camera sensors yet or perhaps it indicates a dual camera setup of 12 MP + 4 MP camera sensors, but we are not sure.

Take this with a pinch of salt.

Earlier

In last few days, the rumor mills around Xiaomi Mi 6 has gained steam pushing more leaks than before though no official details are out yet. With Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ already official, the rumors have started to shift on Xiaomi Mi 6. Out of numerous rumors, one rumor indicate Xiaomi may be using Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor for the Mi 6 standard or lower variant just as LG G6 and may use Snapdragon 835 for the higher or premium variant later.

At the moment there is no official launch date revealed, yet rumors indicate possible delay in  official launch and may happen in May 2017 only instead of April 2017. Alleged Mi 6 Renders in black have surfaced earlier and show the flagship device from front & back side and a recent rumor suggests that Xiaomi may be ditching the 3.5 mm Audio jack with Mi 6.

Adding to these leaks and rumors, today more renders have surfaced on the web (1, 2) and gives us a detailed sneak peek into Mi 6. The colored render produced above show the front display lock screen with a home button at bottom, while an additional slot appears near the front camera. We are not sure what it is for. Also additional slot near front camera or its design doesn’t match with another set of alleged renders produced below.

If these leaked renders are credible, they show the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 from all angles. We can clearly see a dual camera setup at the back at top left corner with LED flash , while the MI logo is at the bottom. The edge of back panel are curved / chamfered at the sides and Volume rockers & Power buttons are placed on one side. The front Home button is there below the display which integrates the fingerprint sensor.
