Just yesterday we reported that Xiaomi Mi 6 official launch is getting delayed by few weeks and may happen in May 2017 instead of earlier rumored April 2017, thanks to Snapdragon 835 availability issues due to Samsung Galaxy S8 launch scheduled on March 29. It seems that the Snapdragon 835 availability issues are pretty serious and we may not see a Snapdragon 835 powered flagship device from any other brand for next 1-2 months.
The latest rumor coming from China indicates that Xiaomi may be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 for the standard or lower variant of Xiaomi Mi 6 just as LG did with their flagship device LG G6. LG G6 is powered by Snapdragon 821 thanks again to non availability of Snapdragon 835. Earlier rumors have indicated a clocked down variant of Snapdragon 835 for Mi 6, but it seems that even the clocked down variant has availability issues and Xiaomi is looking at using Snapdragon 821 for the standard variant and may use Snapdragon 835 for the higher or premium variant.
Mi 6 is rumored to come in three variants. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 / Mediatek Helio X 30 processor with standard variant coming with flat display along with 4 GB of RAM whereas the higher or premium variant with curved display features 6 GB of RAM. If we include the latest rumor then it now includes Snapdragon 821 too.
