Redmi 9 Prime launched in India starting at Rs. 9,999

Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi 9 Prime in India. And as we predicted, it is indeed a rebranded Redmi 9.

The device sports a 6.53-inch FullHD+ display with a water-drop notch. An 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture is housed in the notch.

The Redmi 9 Prime runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes in 2 variants: 64GB/128GB of storage, with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports up to 512GB of expandable memory.

In the camera department, the Redmi 9 Prime is equipped with a 13MP wide-angle primary camera with a 75.2° FOV, f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with 118° FOV, f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, a 5MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture and an LED flash.

The device has a rear placed fingerprint sensor, and is backed by a 5020 mAh battery that charges over a USB Type-C port. The Redmi 9 ships with a 10W fast charger, though it supports 18W Quick Charge 3.0.

Redmi 9 Prime price in India

The Redmi 9 Prime has been priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant and at Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB/128GB variant. The phone will be in four colours: Space Blue, Mint Green, Matte Black and Sunrise Flare across mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Homes and Mi Studios starting 17th August 2020.

The Redmi 9 Prime will go on a Special Early Access Sale on 6th August 10AM on mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Homes and Mi Studios.
