Horde of Heroes is a new Match-3 RPG set in a medieval theme

Noodlecake Games have released a Match-3 game called, Horde of Heroes on Google Play.

The game is set in the medieval period, and lets you play as an armour clad hero, who has to save the kingdom from ye olde baddies. Art thou up to the challenge?

Horde of Heroes is played in portrait mode, like any other Match 3 game. The green bar is your life, and the blue bar is your mana. The enemies life is displayed as the yellow bar. The bar below it is the attack timer. The enemy will attack when the bar is filled.

You have to combine red or purple blocks in the grid, to attack enemies. Combining Blue blocks helps you reduce the damage from enemy attacks. The light blue blocks can be combined for mana, while green blocks can help you recover life. Bomb blocks will destroy blocks surrounding it. Coin blocks can be combined for powerups. There is one block which you must avoid, the curse block, which affects the effectiveness of your combos.

You can combine blocks by dragging one of them to a matching colour. You can equip your hero with various Helmets, Armors, Shields and Weapons. There are over a hundred quests and a million combinations of loot (according to the developer).

If you fail a quest you will lose a life. Lives generate over time, or you can use Diamonds to buy new lives. You can also use them for calling medics, finding new treasure chests.You can see the no of Lives and Diamonds you have on the top right corner of the main menu.

You gain some experience after each battle. Once you gain a level, you get 5 skill points. You can assign skill points to one of the following attributes:

Physical Attacks – Each point increases damage by 1
Magic Attacks (Requires Mana) – Each point increases damage by 1
Defense – Increase it to reduce damage after using Shield Blocks
Mana Capacity – Increase to improve Mana capacity and recovery rate
Health – Each point adds 5 HP to your total health.

There are 4 Elemental Blocks which you can utilize to deal damage (by blocking) to the enemies. You also get a reward chest with some loot if you get 3 stars on a level, you can equip them from the main menu by tapping on the Character icon on the top left.
