Pokémon UNITE will shut down on March 23, 2027, on Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch. The Pokémon Company posted its end-of-service notice on October 27, 2026, and Aeos gem sales stopped the same day.

The notice is light on reasons but precise on timing:
We regret to inform you that service for Pokémon UNITE will end on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC.
That applies to both the Switch and mobile versions. After the deadline, players can no longer log in or battle. The notice doesn’t say why the game is closing. Pokémon UNITE first launched on Switch on July 21, 2021, with the mobile version following later.
Pokémon UNITE shutdown timeline
- October 27, 2026, 05:00 UTC: Aeos gem sales, new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals suspended
- November 12, 2026: an update adds a farewell special event and a library feature
- December 5, 2026: Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo qualifiers still begin as planned
- March 23, 2027, 00:00 UTC: service ends
The November event lets players obtain items released in the game so far, including Unite licenses and Holowear. The library feature is the closest thing to a keepsake once the servers close.
What Pokémon UNITE players should do before March 23
- Spend your Aeos gems: gems you already hold stay usable until service ends.
- Download the library data: finish the required library download before the deadline to keep viewing certain records and content afterward. Players who skip it can’t use the library after shutdown.
- Think before switching phones: library data generally can’t be transferred to a new device, and the library gets no support after service ends.
- UNITE Club members: your benefits run to the end of your current period, and renewals have already stopped.
Purchases end with the servers
The notice does not mention refunds. Players who bought Aeos gems or Club passes will lose access to their purchased cosmetics after March 23, 2027. That’s the standing risk of spending money in a live-service game: what you buy lasts only as long as the servers do.
The shutdown also hits a sizeable mobile audience in India, where the game built a large following. It joins other recent app wind-downs on Android, such as Arc Search for Android.
