Honor X6e Launches in Malaysia at RM 699 With a 7,500mAh Battery

The Honor X6e has launched in Malaysia at RM 699 with a 7,500mAh battery — a cell bigger than anything in Honor’s flagship line, in a phone that costs roughly a tenth as much. It is also, in 2026, a 4G-only phone, which tells you as much about the budget market right now as the battery does.

Honor X6e price and availability

  • RM 699 — 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, the only configuration announced
  • Colours: Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black
  • Market: Malaysia, on sale now via Honor’s own store and retail partners
  • In the box: 45W charger, protective case and a pre-applied screen protector

That is around $170 at current rates. Honor has not announced pricing or timing for any other market, India included.

Honor X6e specifications

  • Display: 6.61-inch LCD, 720 x 1604, 120Hz, 1,010 nits peak brightness
  • Processor: MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra, 4G only — no 5G
  • Memory: 4GB physical RAM plus 4GB of storage-backed “RAM Turbo”, which Honor markets as 8GB; 128GB storage
  • Rear camera: 50MP main (f/1.8) with AI modes including object erase
  • Front camera: 5MP (f/2.2)
  • Battery: 7,500mAh typical capacity (7,320mAh rated), 45W wired charging
  • Battery longevity: Honor claims 1,000+ charge cycles and above 80% capacity retention after six years, measured in its own lab
  • Durability: IP64 splash and dust resistance, SGS certification for a 1.8m drop
  • Other: 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, 300% high-volume mode, 29.6 hours of video playback claimed

What the marketing is doing here

Two numbers on Honor’s own page deserve a second look before you buy.

The first is the memory. Honor’s spec sheet leads with “8(4+4)GB”, and its own footnote explains why: RAM Turbo “can intelligently call up some of the phone’s storage space for operation, equivalently expanding the 4GB RAM to 8GB.” This is a 4GB phone. Virtual RAM swaps to flash storage, which is dramatically slower than real memory and does not behave like it — 4GB in 2026 means apps reloading from scratch when you switch back to them. Every budget OEM does this, and it is misleading every time.

The second is the screen. A 720 x 1604 panel on a 6.61-inch display is a low pixel density, and the 120Hz refresh rate on Honor’s marquee spec list does not change how sharp text looks. The battery, the charging speed and the drop rating are real advantages at this price; the RAM figure and the resolution are where the cost came out.

The absence worth noting is software. Honor’s Malaysian product page does not state which Android version or MagicOS build the X6e ships with, and there is no published commitment on how many OS or security updates it will get. For a phone Honor is pitching on a six-year battery, that silence is conspicuous — a battery that outlives its security patches is not a six-year phone.

4G at the bottom of the market

The X6e shipping without 5G is not an Honor quirk. Counterpoint Research reported this week that entry-level models are moving back to 4G platforms as memory prices push component costs up across every tier. When a budget phone in 2026 carries a huge battery and a 4G modem, that is the trade being made on your behalf: the parts that cost more this year get cut, and the ones that photograph well on a spec sheet stay.
