Apple has a new AppleCare plan built for households, not individuals. AppleCare One Family costs $49.99 a month and covers eligible devices for up to six people in one Apple Family Sharing group, with no limit on how many devices each person can add.
AppleCare One Family Pricing and Availability
Apple’s own support page confirms the price directly: “All your family’s eligible products for $49.99/mo. until cancelled.” The plan became available September 14, 2026, starting in the United States only.
It sits above the original AppleCare One, which Apple introduced in July 2025 at $19.99 a month for up to three devices, with extra devices priced at $5.99 a month each. That plan has since expanded to Australia, France, Germany, and the UK, so a wider international rollout for the Family tier is plausible, though Apple hasn’t said when.
What’s Covered, and What Isn’t
AppleCare One Family carries the same core protections as AppleCare+: accidental damage coverage, battery service, and priority support. Devices must be under four years old and in working condition to qualify. Anything newly purchased gets added to the plan automatically at no extra charge.
The device count has no cap, but claims do. Families are limited to six theft-and-loss claims per year across the entire group, combined, not six per person. Accidental damage claims, by contrast, are unlimited.
That distinction matters for a household actually pricing this out. A family of six each carrying an iPhone, an iPad, and a MacBook could be protecting close to twenty devices under one $49.99 bill. But if two people lose their phones and a third has one stolen, the group has already used half its annual allowance. That leaves the rest of the year with no more theft-and-loss coverage.
Is It Worth It Over Individual Plans
The math favors AppleCare One Family for households with several Apple devices already scattered across accidental-damage-only coverage. A single lost or stolen device claim under a standalone AppleCare+ plan can cost more per year than this family plan’s flat rate. The unlimited accidental-damage allowance also removes the usual per-device claim math. The tradeoff is that shared theft-and-loss limit, which rewards careful families and penalizes accident-prone or larger ones equally.
