If you’re a Pixel owner waiting for September’s software update, you’re not alone, and you haven’t missed it. As of September 15, Google’s own Pixel Update Bulletin still lists August 2026 as the most recent release, with no September entry yet for the Pixel 6 through Pixel 10 lines.
What’s Actually Pending
Google’s security bulletin page, which tracks every monthly Pixel patch, shows the August 2026 bulletin as its newest listing. That bulletin was published August 4, carrying a security patch level of 2026-08-05. Nothing dated September has appeared there yet at the time of writing.
The update everyone’s expecting isn’t just a routine patch. It’s expected to carry Android 17 QPR1 as a stable release, arriving alongside Google’s regular Pixel Feature Drop, after nine public betas over the summer. That combination is why the delay is drawing more attention than a typical monthly patch would.
Not every Pixel is in the same boat. The Pixel 11 series has already received two separate September updates, on September 1 and September 10, though Google published no changelog for either.
When Might It Actually Arrive
Google hasn’t announced a firm date for the September rollout to Pixel 6 through Pixel 10. Feature Drops have historically leaned toward Tuesday releases. Seven of the last ten landed on that day of the week, so a Tuesday release remains the likeliest pattern if the trend holds.
Until the bulletin updates, there’s genuinely nothing broken on your end to troubleshoot. Checking Settings > System > Software update won’t surface anything new until Google actually ships the build to your device’s carrier and region.
What to Do While You Wait
There’s no workaround that gets you Android 17 QPR1 early on a stable channel. Joining the Android Beta program is the only way to try it sooner. That comes with the usual caveats: less stability, and no easy path back to a stable build.
