Samsung’s Privacy Display could reach a Galaxy S phone other than the Ultra for the first time. SamMobile says it can confirm that the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will both get the feature. The cheaper Galaxy S27 and S27+ reportedly won’t. Samsung hasn’t announced any of this, so treat it as a rumor for now.

What Privacy Display does
The phone pictured above is the Galaxy S26 Ultra, where Privacy Display debuted this year. It works at the hardware level, narrowing the screen’s viewing angles so people beside you can’t easily read it. That’s useful on a train, in a café or anywhere strangers can see your screen. Samsung’s support pages list it as an S26 Ultra feature only.
Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra: a brighter version
According to SamMobile, both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will get an upgraded Privacy Display with higher brightness. SamMobile didn’t share brightness figures or explain what else the upgrade changes. It also doesn’t name its sources.
The Pro claim isn’t entirely new. ETNews reported in September that both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra would get Privacy Display, per 9to5Google. In its own coverage, 9to5Google describes the latest leak as adding only the brightness upgrade. It also repeats that the S27 and S27+ won’t get the feature.
Why leaving out the S27 and S27+ matters
If the report is right, a feature that protects your screen in public stays limited to Samsung’s priciest Galaxy S models. An earlier leak pointed to the S27 Pro as a new tier priced at $1,299. Samsung hasn’t confirmed that price either. For buyers, it would make screen privacy a reason to spend more rather than a standard feature across the range.
It joins DC dimming on the list of display features rumored for the S27 Pro and Ultra. A Korean tipster has said the Galaxy S27 could launch in January, so official answers may not be far off.
