Samsung’s stable One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, is rolling out to the Galaxy M36 and Galaxy F36 in India. The F36 is the Flipkart-sold sibling of the M36, and both phones are getting builds of roughly 2.89GB.
SamMobile and SammyGuru both reported the F36 rollout in India with the same firmware build. SammyGuru also reported the M36 build and says the update carries the October 2026 security patch.
One UI 9 builds for the Galaxy M36 and F36 in India

- Galaxy F36: build E366BXXU8CZJ5, 2,892.05MB, reported by both SamMobile and SammyGuru.
- Galaxy M36: build M366BXXU8CZJ5, about 2.89GB, reported by SammyGuru.
- Security patch: October 2026, according to SammyGuru.
The M36 build string comes from a single outlet so far. The F36 build has two separate reports, from different tipsters, which makes it the firmer of the two. As of October 29, no Samsung India release note for either build has surfaced.
The M36 got One UI 9 in South Korea first, on build M366KKSU7DZJ5 per SammyGuru, and SamMobile says India is among the first markets outside Korea.
How to check for the update
- Open Settings on your Galaxy M36 or F36.
- Tap Software update.
- If an update is listed, tap Download and install.
- Once the download finishes, tap Install now.
The download is close to 3GB, so use Wi-Fi and charge the phone first. If nothing shows up yet, check again over the next few days.
Where else One UI 9 has landed
The M36 and F36 join several other budget and mid-range Galaxy phones from the past week. One UI 9 has already reached the Galaxy A35, A17 and M17 in India. It is also rolling out to the Galaxy M54 and Galaxy F70 Pro, and to the Galaxy A55 in Europe and India.
