The OnePlus N6x is now official in India, launched on 31 July 2026 at ₹18,999 for the 4GB + 64GB model and ₹20,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model. OnePlus India’s own product listing shows the phone as model CPH2971 in exactly two colours, Ice Blue and Burgundy Red, and OnePlus’s launch page states that the sale begins on 4 August at 12PM.

Both storage variants ship with 4GB of RAM. That is not a typo and it is not a base configuration with a bigger one waiting above it — OnePlus India lists four SKUs in total for this phone, and all four are 4GB. Anyone budgeting around ₹20,999 for the higher tier is paying for storage alone.
What the price tells us about where the N6x sits
When AndroidPure covered the N6x launch-date confirmation on 26 July, the pricing was still unannounced, so the read on this phone’s positioning had to be hedged. The price settles it, and it settles it awkwardly for OnePlus.
The OnePlus N6 launched three weeks earlier at ₹22,999 with an 8,000mAh battery. The N6x arrives ₹4,000 cheaper with a smaller 7,000mAh cell — while endurance is the single loudest claim on its marketing page, where OnePlus promises “power that lasts up to 2.5 days.” That figure carries OnePlus’s own footnote stating it comes from OnePlus Test Lab results and that real battery life varies with network, apps, call frequency, charge cycles, usage habits and device age. It is a lab ceiling, not a spec.
The other half of the arithmetic is charging. A 7,000mAh battery filled at 15W is a long wait — this is a phone you charge overnight, not one you top up before leaving the house. Big-battery phones at this price increasingly pair the cell with 45W or better, and the N6x does not.
OnePlus caps the AI features by the month
The N6x is marketed on AI photo tools — AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser and AI Unblur get their own section on OnePlus’s page. Read the disclaimer under that section and there is a detail worth knowing before you buy: OnePlus states that use of the AI features “may subject to monthly usage caps on either frequency or duration,” and that “Quotas reset on the 1st of each month.”
OnePlus does not publish what those caps actually are — not a number of edits, not a number of minutes, nothing. So a headline feature on a ₹18,999 phone is metered by an amount the buyer cannot find out before purchase, and the meter resets on a calendar schedule rather than replenishing as you use it. That is worth weighing if the AI editing tools are part of why the phone appeals to you. Treat them as an occasional extra, not something you can lean on daily.
OnePlus N6x specifications
OnePlus has not published a full specification sheet on its India site at the time of writing — the product page carries marketing sections and SKU data but no spec table, and the usual specs URL returns a 404. The following combines what OnePlus states directly with what was reported at launch; the OnePlus-confirmed items are marked.
- Display: 6.8-inch HD+ LCD, 120Hz refresh rate (the 120Hz figure is OnePlus’s own, with its footnote that actual refresh rate varies by app and game settings). Peak brightness figures reported at launch disagree with each other, so no number is stated here.

The software question nobody should skip
The N6x ships on OxygenOS 16 in the same year that OnePlus confirmed OxygenOS is being replaced by ColorOS. OnePlus has published no OS-upgrade or security-update commitment for the N6x that we can find on its India site, and a buyer at this price typically keeps the phone for three to four years — long enough to sit right in the middle of that transition. Before you buy on 4 August, that is the number to go looking for: how many Android versions and how many years of security patches this specific phone gets, and what happens to it when the skin it shipped with stops existing.
