MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi K20 released; brings November Security Patch

The MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi K20 has been released. And before you ask us about Android 10 for the phone, let’s tell you the phone is still on Android 9 Pie, which is a bit disappointing.

MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi K20
There had been a report which claimed Redmi would update the device to the latest version of Android in October, but it’s nearly December and there’s no sign of an update for the phone which also goes by the Mi 9T moniker.

What’s new in the MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi K20

The update brings the November Security Patch to the device. Previously the phone had been on the September Security Patch, which we told you about when the MIUI 11 Update for Redmi K20 had been released.

And quite shockingly, that’s just about it. There is nothing else mentioned in the release notes. That was surprising considering that the update weighs about 447MB to download. The DRM is still on Widevine L1, so Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., work fine. So does the Google camera mod with Night Shift.

The MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi K20 seems to be rolling out in batches, so you can wait for a few days or check for it manually from Settings > System Update. That’s what we did on our Redmi K20.

Or if you want it immediately, you can update the phone manually by getting the package from the following link, and use the updater app to install it.

Note: The update disabled the Battery Saver upon reboot, and we had to re-enable it.
