Just few hours back, we reported the official global launch of two new Android One devices from Xiaomi i.e. Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite. We already reported that only one of these devices i.e. Mi A2 will be coming to India and Mi A2 Lite will skip India. Now we have an official confirmation of the launch date of Xiaomi Mi A2 in India thanks to tweet from Manu Kumar Jain (Global VP and Director of Xiaomi India). The tweet reveals that Xiaomi will be officially launching the successor of Mi A1 i.e. Mi A2 on AUgust 8 which is just two weeks away.

The Mi A2 Android One features a 5.99-inch display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor along with 4GB/6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage . It runs on Stock Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system thanks to Android One Programme. It comes with an aluminium unibody, with discreet antenna lines and an arc design with a thickness of just 7.2mm.

Mi A2 vs Mi A1The Mi A2 features a dual camera module at rear consisting of 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor having 1.25um pixel size, with an f/1.75 aperture and a secondary 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with a 2.0um 4-in-1 Super Pixel size and an f/1.75 aperture. It uses AI machine learning for portrait mode with bokeh effect. While on the front, it features the same 20MP lens on the back (SonyIMX376) with a 4500k selfie light and HDR. The phone has a USB Type-C port and dual speaker grille on the bottom.  The Mi A2 will be available in 3 colours: Gold, Blue, and Black.

At the moment, we are not sure whether the company will launch both the 4GB / 6GB RAM variants in India and in how many colour options. In terms of pricing, we expect it to be priced below Rs. 15,000 which was the case as with Mi A1. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
