An alleged launch teaser for Xiaomi Mi 9 has leaked on Chinese social network Weibo which suggest that the new flagship phone is nearing official launch next month. Alleged Xiaomi Mi 9 specifications surface: Triple Camera, SD855, In-display fingerprint sensor

Xiaomi is set to announce a new Redmi smartphone on January 10 in China with Redmi as a separate sub-brand. With the official separation of brand name, Xiaomi is expected to concentrate on flagship devices under Mi name. At the moment, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Mi 8 are the flagship devices with premium hardware specifications. Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to launch in March 2019 as successor to Mi 8.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Hardware Specification?

Even though Xiaomi is yet to announce anything officially about Mi 9, the alleged hardware specifications of Mi 9 has surfaced on Weibo, giving us a sneak peek into what we can expect from the next flagship smartphone from Xiaomi. As per the leak/rumor, Xiaomi Mi 9 may feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a water drop notch at the top having a 19:9 aspect ratio. It will feature the In-display fingerprint sensor instead of a conventional fingerprint sensor as we have seen in Mi 8 Explorer edition.

The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and runs on MIUI10 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system out of the box. The leak also talks about the dimensions of the phone and indicates the size of ~155×75×7.6mm which is similar to Xiaomi Mi 8.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Specs

The leak indicates same capacity for the battery for Mi 9 as that of Mi 8 i.e. 3500 mAh without the support for wireless charging. However, it will come with a 32W charger having Qualcomm QC4.0 fast-charge support.

In terms of camera, it features a triple camera module with 48MP+12MP+ToF camera sensors. The 48MP primary camera is the same Sony IMX586 sensor that we have seen in devices such as Huawei Nova 4, but the other sensor details are not available at the moment. On the front, Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 24MP IMX576 sensor.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Price?

The leak also indicates that Mi 9 may be priced at 2999 Yuan for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant.

In spite of this leak, we would prefer to wait for some more credible leaks or official release before we can be sure of anything. As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at AndroidPure and we will keep you updated.
