If you own a Moto E Android smartphone and till date has been ruing the absence of custom ROMs for Moto E, here is some good news for you. Thanks to incredible efforts from developers at XDA like cybojenix, initial builds of two of the best known customs ROMs i.e SlimKat and CyanogenMod 11 (Unofficial) have been  ported to Moto E. This delay in getting the port of custom ROMs for Moto E was due to the fact that the device tree wasn’t released for this device even though The Moto E’s firmware is close to AOSP like the Nexus devices.

Slimkat Android 4.4.4 moto eBoth the  SlimKat and CyanogenMod 11 (Unofficial) custom ROMs port are based on the latest version of Android i.e Android 4.4.4 kitkat. Also, both the ROMs at the moment support only the Single SIM models and no support for Dual SIM models.

Keep in mind that Installing custom ROMs though leads to warranty getting null and void. Hence before getting tempted to flash them, make sure you don’t need warranty for your device. Also, these are initial builds and hence may be buggy & unstable.

If you own a Moto E and want to flash one of these ROMs, you just need to go to the CyanogenMod or SlimKat threads at XDA.
