Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 5G in India, bringing its latest budget phone to the market with a massive 8,000mAh battery and the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. The phone starts at Rs 27,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and goes up to Rs 30,999 for 8GB/128GB, with an instant bank discount of Rs 3,000 bringing effective prices down to Rs 24,999 and Rs 27,999 respectively.
The Redmi Note 17 5G first launched in China earlier this year starting at approximately $179. The India pricing puts it squarely in the budget segment, though the Rs 28-31k range before discounts is notably higher than what previous Redmi Note entries have commanded at launch.

Xiaomi promises four years of OS updates and six years of security patches — matching Samsung’s commitment in this segment and exceeding what most competitors offer. The Redmi Note 17 Pro, which launched alongside the base model in China, has not yet received confirmed India pricing.
