Xiaomi is all set to launch the next phone in the Redmi series in our Country. The Redmi 6 India launch date is set for September 5th.
That’s according to a press invite which NDTV reported about, and they say that the Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6A could debut as well.
It’s not really surprising, considering Xiaomi India chief, Manu Jain, had tweeted something about the next new Redmi phones, which featured a not so distinct teaser video, that has the number 6 in it along with three devices.
The Redmi 6 India launch isn’t the device’s global debut, in fact the company had launched the device earlier this year in China. What’s interesting however, is that the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A might see the return of MediaTek powered Xiaomi devices. A report from a few months ago said Xiaomi is no longer restricted from using MediaTek chipsets in its phones sold in India.

The Redmi 6 India price could start at Rs. 8,400. This is based on the Chinese variants pricing.
- Redmi 6 Price: 799 RMB (Rs. 8,400 approx) for 3GB RAM/32GB, 999 RMB (Rs. 10,500) for 4GB + 64GB.
- Redmi 6A Price: 599 RMB (about Rs. 6,300) for 2GB RAM/16GB storage.
- Redmi 6 Pro Price: 999 RMB (approximately Rs. 10,400) for 3GB + 32GB, 1,199 RMB (Rs. 12,500) for 4GB + 32GB, and 1,299 RMB (Rs. 13,600) for 4GB + 64GB.
