The base Pixel 11 will reportedly lack Google’s new HiLight notification LED and ship with 12 GB of RAM, according to leaker @evowizz. With Google’s Made by Google event set for tomorrow, August 12, these last-minute details sharpen the line between the standard and Pro models heading into the launch.
HiLight stays exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro
HiLight — also referred to as Pixel Glow — is an RGB LED embedded in the camera bar that lights up for calls from favorite contacts or Gemini activity when the phone is face-down. According to evowizz, the feature will not appear on the standard Pixel 11, making it exclusive to the Pro series. For buyers drawn to HiLight as a modern take on the notification LED, this means the Pro is the minimum entry point.
12 GB RAM confirmed, correcting earlier 8 GB rumors
Earlier leaks had suggested Google might drop the base model to 8 GB of RAM. Evowizz says that is not the case: the Pixel 11 will carry 12 GB across all storage tiers, with no lower configuration. That matches the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 base models, both of which shipped with 12 GB. The Pro, meanwhile, is said to offer 16 GB on higher storage tiers — a meaningful gap for heavy multitasking and on-device AI workloads.
10.8 MP telephoto camera on board
Contrary to some early speculation that Google would strip the telephoto lens from the base model entirely, evowizz confirms it retains a 10.8 MP telephoto sensor. This corrects our earlier report, which listed the base model’s telephoto at 10 MP based on the information available at the time. The 10.8 MP figure aligns with the sensor used in last year’s Pixel 10.
Evowizz also hinted that several unannounced features for the Pixel 11 lineup have not leaked yet, though no further details were shared.
What to expect tomorrow
Google’s Made by Google event on August 12 will make all of this official — or not. Until then, these remain unconfirmed leaks. If the pattern holds, expect the base Pixel 11 to slot in as the more affordable option with most of the core hardware intact, while HiLight and extra RAM stay reserved for the Pro tier as upsell incentives. We will have full confirmed specs, pricing, and availability once Google takes the stage.
