In our last post, we talked about how to install Ice Cream Sandwich ICS custom ROM on LG P500. Today we will talk about how to install CyanogenMod 9 Music app by removing the default stock music app from your ICS Android Phone.

cyanogenmod music App

The CyanogenMod 9 Music app comes with Rich & custom notifications, Drag & Drop queue, playlist, Custom lock-screen, native Shake and Flip actions  compared to dull default music app available with all Android stock ROMs. Only downside of this app, it is available only for phones with Ice Cream Sandwich installed on it.

INSTALLATION

To install the CM9 music app, you need to uninstall your default music stock app from your phone. For uninstalling that, your Android Phone must be rooted. We will cover how to root your Android in some other post in ear future. IF your phone is not rooted, just search Google with keywords “root your Phone Model”. Just replace the phrase Phone Model to your actual Phone Model name.

Titanium Backup App to uninstall stock music app

Even with rooted phone, you need to install Titanium Backup App on your phone. You can get it from Android Market. After you have installed it, just open it up.  Inside the App, under “Backup/Restore” button, just scroll down till you find the default music App.  Just click on it and you will find few buttons like Backup, freeze, Run app , uninstall etc. Just click on uninstall button and it will uninstall the default Music stock app from your phone.

Now, you must restart your Phone, else you cannot install the CyanogenMod 9 Music app. After the restart, just run the APK file of CM 9 music app and it will be installed on your Android phone. APK file for CyanogenMod 9 Music app can be downloadedfrom the link below.

As we said earlier, you need ICS on your Android Phone to use this App. If your phone is not having the ICS, you can try some of the Custom ROMs available for many phones on the web. Check if any ICS ROM is available for your Phone Model too.
