Fire-Boltt, the Indian brand best known for cheap smartwatches, has entered the smartphone market. Its new sub-brand boltt launched two handsets in India on August 25 — the boltt Ace 5G and the boltt Evo — starting at Rs 10,999, with both going on sale exclusively on Flipkart from September 1 at 12:00 PM IST.

boltt has set a standard price for each variant plus a lower day-one launch price, which applies on September 1.

Both are Flipkart exclusives. The Ace 5G comes in Arctic White, Burgundy Bliss, Forest Green, Lavender Bloom, Midnight Black and Sky Blue; the Evo drops Forest Green and Burgundy Bliss for Berry Red.

Where this actually sits
Arnav Kishore, founder and CEO of boltt, framed the launch this way, as quoted by Fone Arena: “We are taking a consumer first approach to smartphones, with a clear focus on making technology more relevant, accessible and meaningful to everyday consumers.”
The clean, bloatware-free Android 16 build is the genuinely appealing part of the pitch, because at this price point pre-installed junk and lock-screen ad delivery are the norm rather than the exception. A brand that keeps that promise past the launch cycle would be doing something the category badly needs.
The rest deserves a cooler look. The Ace 5G’s headline performance figure — an AnTuTu score above 547,000 — is boltt’s own claim, not an independently run benchmark, and AnTuTu numbers are the single easiest specification in this segment to present flatteringly. A Unisoc T8200 with an LCD panel at Rs 15,999 also puts the top Ace 5G variant in the same shelf space as established brands offering AMOLED screens and better-known silicon. One number missing from the launch details is a software support commitment: how many Android version upgrades and how many years of security patches these phones are promised. For a first-time phone maker, that is the number a buyer should want before the discount.
