Apple Music’s redesign for Android is now in the regular Play Store app, not just the beta. Apple’s Play Store listing shows an update dated October 29, and its release notes now describe the new design. 9to5Google says the update is version 7.0 and is widely rolled out.
The redesign first appeared in beta about a month earlier. Our Apple Music 7.0 beta write-up covers those changes in full. This post focuses on what’s confirmed in the stable app.
What Apple says is new in Apple Music 7.0
Apple’s release notes for the update on Google Play read:
This update brings a fresher look to Apple Music, with reimagined Artist pages featuring full-page artwork and curated highlights. You can now remove a song from your Library without removing it from your Playlists.
The library change is the most practical one. Taking a song out of your Library no longer pulls it out of playlists you’ve built.
New icon and blue accent
9to5Google points to two visible changes in the stable release. The music-note app icon is now black or white, depending on your device theme, instead of sitting on a red background. The app’s accent colour is now blue.

9to5Google describes the look as the Liquid Glass design style from iOS. Apple’s own notes don’t use that name for the Android app. 9to5Google also says the 7.0 version number matches iOS 27.
The Apple Music Android redesign, in brief
These details come from 9to5Google’s look at the stable release:
- Bottom bar: floating and slightly translucent, but unlike on iOS it doesn’t shrink as you scroll
- Mini-player: floats separately above the bar rather than docking to it
- Layout: runs edge to edge under Android’s status and navigation bars
- Headers: titles and the overflow menu share one line, and three-dot icons sit in circles instead of showing in red
- Artist pages: backgrounds themed to the cover art, a prominent play button, an info page and a share button at top right
- Settings: regrouped into new sections
- Now Playing: essentially unchanged
There is one tradeoff. Edit Pins and Edit Categories in the Library tab now live inside the three-dot menu, so reaching them takes an extra tap.
If you don’t see the new design yet, check for an Apple Music update in the Play Store.
